외관은 한국 마트 같지만 지하로 내려가면 정겨운 식당이 펼쳐집니다.

This small yet cozy London Korean restaurant is located on New Oxford Street.
From the outside, it looks like a Korean grocery store,
but step inside and you’re greeted by a warm,homely dining space.
Woo Jung London has a charm that makes you feel as if you’ve been transported back to Korea.
내부는 테이블 수가 많지 않아 금방 만석이 되고,
혼자 식사하는 외국인 손님이 많아 인상적이었어요.
런던에서 혼밥하는 외국인들이 이렇게 편안하게 한국 음식을 즐기는 모습을 보니,
런던 우정이 현지인들에게도 사랑받는다는 걸 느꼈습니다.
Inside, there aren’t many tables, so it fills up quickly.
I was pleasantly surprised to see many foreign customers eating alone.
Watching people in London enjoy Korean food so comfortably
made me realize how much Woo Jung London is loved, even by locals.

느끼함을 잡아줄 김치찌개를 주문했어요.

주문했는데 진짜 대박!

stir-fried spicy pork, soft tofu stew, bibimbap, and tteok-ramyeon.
Most mains are priced between £10 and £12,

Following the staff’s recommendation, I ordered the stir-fried spicy pork
and the kimchi stew to balance out the heavier flavors I’d been having while traveling.
우정(woo jung) 제육볶음은 불맛이 가득하고 달콤하면서도 매콤한 양념이 일품이었어요.
김치찌개는 얼큰하고 깊은 국물 맛이 밥과 너무 잘 어울렸습니다.
정말 “한국에서도 여긴 맛집이다!” 싶었을 정도예요.
The stir-fried pork had a deep smoky flavor and a perfectly balanced sweet-and-spicy sauce.
The kimchi stew was hearty and spicy, pairing wonderfully with rice. Honestly, I thought,
“This would be a famous spot even in Korea.”
재밌는 건, 런던 우정이 위치한 건물 위층이 한국 마트라는 점이에요.
저는 양해를 구하고 참치김밥을 사 와서 함께 먹었는데,
보통은 외부 음식 반입이 안 되지만 친절하게 허락해 주셨어요.
김밥까지 곁들이니 행복이 두 배가 됐습니다.
Interestingly, Woo Jung London is located beneath a Korean grocery store.
I asked for permission to bring in a tuna kimbap I bought upstairs,
and even though outside food usually isn’t allowed, the staff kindly let me.
Having the kimbap alongside my meal doubled my happiness.
그리고 식당 한쪽 벽에는 블랙핑크 제니 사인이 걸려 있었어요.
“여길 제니도 다녀갔구나” 생각하니 괜히 더 설레고,
음식이 더 맛있게 느껴졌습니다.
On one of the walls, I spotted BLACKPINK Jennie’s autograph.
Realizing that Jennie had been there too made me oddly
excited and somehow made the food taste even better.
마지막으로 꿀팁! 저는 오픈 시간에 맞춰 갔는데,
순식간에 자리가 꽉 차고 웨이팅이 생겼어요.
